louis zamperini: the main character in this book. he was born in olean NY 1917. parents soon moved to CA. he became a runner in high school. he ran in the Olympics and shook alolf Hitlers hand when he was there. he is a bombardier in WW2. also becomes a P.O.W. in WW2.

first, explains his child hood and the experiences that would shape him for man hood . 
second, explains training for war and the knowledge louis learns.
last, explains his experiences in war and the mental brutality of it. 

louis is a p.o.w.
 it is internal and external conflict because, the 'Japs' are mean to louis and endlessly pester him. 

 everyone would like this book.

the book is a historical biography. 
 the movie about the book: unbroken is like the book.
